Introduction Song: A Tribe Called Quest - Youthful Expression (Jive Records)

This week, we are doing a special rebroadcast the FuseBox Radio Broadcast episode where DJ Fusion interviewed Emidio "Mimi" Soltysik (R.I.P. to a great person at large, activist & longtime friend of the show who transitioned over the past week) & Angela Nicole Walker, the presidential and vice-presidential candidates for the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election for the Socialist Party USA.

During 2016's “interesting” presidential election cycle (to say the least) here in the United States, we were more aware than ever of the imbalance in how 3rd parties are looked at in our current political system in terms of balanced exposure by mainstream media outlets, if they even get any attention at all.

The FuseBox Radio’s 2016 Presidential Candidate Interview Sessions were created to assist with educating voters a bit of information about various political parties & ideologies beyond the Democrat/Republican binary with what they stand for straight from the source.

We talked about what exactly IS a socialist, how Emidio & Angela decided to become deeply & personally involved with politics & the Socialist Party USA, their platform (in regards to education, health care, the legal system & more), how change needs to happen from local levels on up (in the ballot box and on the streets), the politics of division & the urgent need to change that ASAP, naturally being “intersectional as f**k”, how folks have been responding to their campaign (especially since socialism has been slandered with misinformation via various places) and lots more!

Hey everyone,

While we got a new mini-music mix and FuseBox Radio Classic full episode coming up on your feeds shortly, I just had to put in a few extra words & thoughts commentary wise about the recent happenings with the uprisings and riots here in the States as of late after last week's episode with what's been going on, how folks feel about the role of individuals, independent media & Black media in the mix right now, how one feels as a Black person in this current mix (much less the one who is always seen as the "political" one & whatnot), how we can all make it through this era of change, etc. - DJ Fusion

June 07, 2020 01:48 PM PDT

NOTE: This episode's commentary section was recorded 1 week ago literally right before the utter insanity and escalations of the various fascist-adjacent local, state & national governmental actions here in the U.S. against the uprising movement & riots post- the murders via law enforcement of Breonna Taylor and George Floyd. I'll be posting up a commentary addendum shortly and apologize for the delay. - DJ Fusion

Introduction/Commentary: 0:00 - 1:28:54
DJ Fusion Music Mix: 1:28:54 - 2:15:44
Ausar Ra Black Hawk Music Mix: 2:15:44 - 3:18:00

We FINALLY got to record a classic era format episode of the syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast during the week of May 31, 2020 of some new and classic Hip-Hop, Soul, Funk, Jazz and other music from the Black Diaspora along with some news and commentary.

This week the big issue we talked about were the murders via law enforcement of Breonna Taylor and George Floyd by law enforcement, how rapidly the public has responded to this latest round of police brutality from regular folks on the ground to those in power positions (especially with COVID-19 still being a thing that hasn't even wanted yet), the steady feelings of frustration & anger with these events feeling damned near constant with Black America, the role of agent provocateurs at the current protests, where do we go from here and more.

We also talked a bit about the Jeffrey Epstein "Filthy Rich" documentary on Netflix and a few other random things before getting into the music mixes.
